Many people respect the meaning of a name, and many more like to find out the meaning of their name.
The name I want to help people understand more about is the name "Lord".
No! I don't mean 'Jesus the Christ,' his name and title never included "Lord".
The title "Lord" was reserved by God himself as his name only. It is only one of his names, people can call him almost any name they find is respectful and meaningful for them, when they acknowledge the ultimate spirit.
For a person who is Buddhist, may like to call the ultimate spirit Buddha, although other Buddhist's find that their worship of Buddha takes them even deeper to a spirit beyond Buddha. Some people from several different religions may refer to that ultimate spirit as "The Light."
I like the name "The Light" because light is the ultimate source of all life; no plant grows, no warm blooded animal nor cold blooded (as they need the suns warmth before they can have enough energy to hunt food) or person could live without the warmth from the light of the sun. No life could feed without the life and energy produced as a result of the light from the sun. Therefore "The Light" is very appropriate for the "Ultimate Spirit" who is also the source of all life and all things.
Some people also use other names, such as Daddy, Heavenly Father, God, Allah, Jehovah, the Source, my Guide and many more names, all containing their respect for the person who is The Ultimate Spirit.
The Ultimate Spirit is a person because he has a personality, it is very wrong to refer to him as 'it' or 'thing.'
Many people may wonder why I choose to refer to the Ultimate Spirit as 'He,' for me it is a convenient way to refer to "The Light" in the first person, and the Light has told me he is happy with my using the male reference. For other people you may wish to use the title 'She,' I am sure that would be OK with The Light as well, whatever is respectful within your own heart and comfortable for you is acceptable to The Light.
Just as the clouds can block out the sun's direct light, and the sun's reflected light from the moon, so too evil tries to block people from The Light.
Just as the sun's light may be blocked from us seeing the sun directly, the truth is that the sun still shines.
Just the same for the truth about "The Light," the truth is still the truth no matter if we don't see it, or choose not to believe it.
Because evil's main purpose is to undermine "The Light," they have encouraged many occasions where "The Light's" preferred title has been misused by people:
