COLIN BAKER / VALEYARD
NEWS

This is where you'll find the most up to date information on Colin, Michael and Doctor Who. Obviously, there isn't all that much breaking news out there at the moment, so this page will mainly deal with the updates to the site (such as changes and interviews) and any other big news. There are plenty of other Who sites dealing with other Doctor Who actors and news - but we're going to concentrate only on the important news - Colin Baker and the Sixth Doctor! When any big news does break - we'll be there!

Latest news on SOULS ARK!

Just received this update from Ian Burgess:

"Just to let you know the film has finally been released in the UK and orders are possible for overseas buyers by contacting either the allworldart website already mentioned on your pages, or via hayden@galico1.freeserve.co.uk

Also of interest is the prelude to the film which will be available on cd at the beginning of November, again featuring Colin Baker in his role as Hayden Galico, and joined by agent Roma Styles, as portrayed by Sarah Sutton (alias Nyssa).

Preparations are underway to film the second episode, hopefully at the beginning of 2000, with Colin, Wendy and Sarah reprising their roles.

Regards,

Ian Burgess"

New Colin Baker Film about to be released!

Release is due shortly of the new Colin Baker film, SOULS ARK.

Souls Ark Colin plays the part of Galico, partnered by Wendy Padbury in her first acting role for a number of years as Keel. They are sent to investigate strange disappearancs and goings on at an archaeological dig and the increasing number of so say "natural" disasters in the world. Their boss, Grant (played by Carole Ann Ford) is suspicious that there is someone or SOMETHING behind these ever increasing events.

Shot entirely on location, in a glossy wide screen format, the film is the pilot for a series of 6 episodes which have an underlying link but will also expand upon the mysterious powers of the agents investigating.

More information about the film, including competitions, interviews and photographs, can be found on the official website http://www.allworldart.com/soulsark/

Thanks to Ian Burgess for letting us know! This is great news for Colin Baker and Doctor Who fans alike!

New audio adventures to star Colin Baker!

The BBC has signed a deal with an independent production company, Big Finish Productions, to create a series of new Doctor Who audio adventures, which will be released on cassette and on CD.

Work has already started on the new series, and the company is hoping that the first releases will appear in summer. The new adventures will be overseen by former BBC books editor Stephen Cole, who is keen that the new stories tie closely to continuity established by the television series. Big Finish Productions will be represented by producers Jason Haigh-Ellery and former Doctor Who Magazine editor and author Gary Russell.

The new stories will feature a mixture of previous Doctors, and Sylvester McCoy and Colin Baker are already signed to recreate their roles, and the producers also hope to work with Tom Baker and Paul McGann. Each Doctor will, where possible, be teamed with the actors who played their TV assistants.

The first release will be The Sirens of Time, written by Nick Briggs, which will feature the fifth, sixth and seventh Doctors. Several other established Doctor Who authors have been approached, including Marc Platt, Andy Lane and Mark Gatiss. Each adventure will be formatted like a TV story, with four twenty-five minute episodes released on two cassettes, and, exclusively through mail-order, on two CDs. Big Finish Productions plan to release a new story every other month.
