This one-hour drama, inspired by David Simon's acclaimed non-fiction book "Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets," is at once a mundane yet compelling look in and around a Homicide unit of the Baltimore Police Department. This dedicated group of determined individuals are committed to their grim job, that of speaking for those who can no longer speak for themselves. They are the last voice of the dead. The grim realities of their job saturate the personalities of the characters and lodge the pain of their cases deep in the chests of their viewers. Homicide WAS the best show on television, and it will be missed.
