Two television movies and twenty series episodes, originally aired from 1972 to 1975 on the ABC television network. Starring Darren McGavin as Carl Kolchak. The show revolved around Carl Kolchak, a reporter for the Independent News Service in Chicago. Each week Carl reported on unusual murders. Stories topics included Jack the Ripper, vampires, zombies, and an Aztec cult. The show continues to have a following.

SYNOPSIS: Carl Kolchak, a reporter for the Las Vegas Daily News, is assigned to cover a story of a 23 year-old change girl who's body was found in a garbage can and drained of blood. To Carl's surprise, the medical examiner reveals that the change girl and 2 other victims died of shock due to loss of blood and each victim had been bitten on the throat. Human saliva was found in the wounds. As events pile up, Kolchak realizes that he is on the trail of a vampire!

SYNOPSIS:An old reporter buddy from Las Vegas (Jim "The Swede" Brytowski) breezes through Chicago and tells Kolchak about a series of three strange murders stretching along the road from Las Vegas to Los Angeles. The bodies were drained of blood! Kolchak's experience with a vampire in Las Vegas makes him eager to check out Los Angeles. Four professional football players are killed by a female suspect (Catherine Rawlins). Kolchak sets up a meeting with the female vampire posing as a prostitute.

SYNOPSIS:A succubus is killing men on the campus of Illinois State Tech. The succubus is taking possession of attractive young women to lure the men to their death. While snooping around campus, Kolchak learns of a tablet found in Mesopotamia that explains the power of the succubus.
