Character name:  Salamae Artika Katz
Nickname(s):  As self: Artika, Artie  As heroine: Lady Red, Silent Woman, Bodica, Bodica the unknown Babeasaurus
Show represented:  The Greatest American Hero
Concept represented:  Alien Supersuit run on willpower and imagination (science fantasy)
Played by: Miss Rachel
Gender: Female
Age: 32
Race/Ethnicity: Eastern European Jewish/American/New Yorker
Appearance:  Height: 5’5”;  Weight: 150 lbs, looks 140 lbs; martial artist muscles, not too showy, but there; dress size/pants size 8 to 12 depending on brand; slender waist with hour glass figure: wide hips, rounded "D-cup” bosom, and rounded, thought tight and muscular butt -- shoulders are broad, shoulder pads are redundant.
Hair Color: Ash Brown/Auburn Brown, shoulder length wavy; Eye color: “Hazel” --- Tri-color in rings -- closest to pupil: light brown, almost yellow “sun”, center ring: dark green, outer ring closest to whites of the eyes brown/grey. People who look quickly usually say brown or green.  Eyes are set in to face, cheek bones high and showing “Mongolian” influence, oval shaped head with high forehead.
Nose: somewhat broad and turned up, but not overly large-- show Asian/Mongolian influence in genetics.  Lips: broad and thick for a non-African about average for an African, naturally dark petal pink; Skin tone: generally Caucasian in appearance, but actually a combination of Semitic (Arabic/middle eastern)  and Asian, thus pale skin has both pink and yellow undertones.
Birth Mark: Inside right forearm has a tan spray of spots that looks like a map of a star cluster or galaxy, right lower side of chin has a brown mole. Voice: is usually sweet and musical unless putting on an accent or angry.
Appearance of the Supersuit: There is large a white black and red target-like emblem in the center of the chest, the main color of the suit is deep red with red piping at various seams.  The top is like a long sleeved tunic and goes  the bottom of the hip bone, with splits on the side, the bottom is like a legging or heavy tights. There is a belt, but it doesn't do much, so Artika added a fanny pack in which she has the following items: small deck of tarot cards about 4” x 2.5”, a fold up hair brush, first aid ointments for burns and bacteria, first aid tape and gauze, lip balm and lipstick, cash folded in a plastic covered metal paper clip, the smallest cell phone available, a small store bought spiral notebook and a couple of pens.
There is a cape which only goes in length to about half way down the hip bone (you can't sit on it) and it is black with red piping. Underneath the cape, Artika has added a “flat pack” which is a back-pack which only extends to 2.5” inches in width. It is strapped under her shoulders and around her hip under the belt and is the same red as the supersuit. Most people don't notice it. She stores her reversible long duster (cloth: matte black on one side and dirt brown on the other.) She keeps her identification and wallet in a hidden pocket in the seam of the duster. She can also fit in the “flat pack” whatever shirts or sweater she might be wearing in her civilian identity.
When she's wearing the suit, she can change clothing (layers over the suit) very fast. In her civilian identity she usually wears a loose sweater or “bowling” shirt so she can wear the flat back underneath without  likely detection, and she stores the cape and the fanny pack in the flat pack.
Her first color scheme choice is earth tones, but sometimes she does something with lavender and black mixed with earth tones. Although, the fanny pack is perfectly nondescript black, and she sometimes - but not always - wears it over her civilian clothes. She never adds anything personal to it, leaving personal and additional items in her duster pockets.  Mask: at first using a simple “Zorro” type black head kerchief with holes cut out of it, she added a gray gauze piece to cover her lower face, but not hinder her breathing. The mask goes in the flat pack with the cape when not in use, and in a pinch can be stuffed into the fanny pack or duster jacket.

Income:  averages currently at about $40,000 a year, but since works as a freelancer can be as little as $20,000 and as much as $200,000 in any given year. She lives on a budget because of this, and has two mortgages to support - a house in Queens NY and an apartment/condo in Santa Monica, CA
Religion:  spiritual agnostic, identifies the most with Buddhism, but talks also in terms of Jewish Cultural roots and cross-cultural metaphor including pagan (Wiccan/Earth Mother/The Creator) and animist (both Amerind and Japanese)
Family:  Parents living, but divorced, younger brother and older sister
Media Characters Connection:  E-pen pal with Blair Sandburg (The Sentinel), may have met Blair and Jim during a stop over in Cascade, may be long distant friends with them.
Education:  College degree in liberal arts, Bronx High School of Science; an avid researcher and student of cultures and folk lore, lay anthropologist, sociologist and folklorist.
Gift:  The Alien “Supersuit” is run on the power of thought, but it is not omnipotent. The abilities that are used the most often are the ones that are accessed by mantra/incantation or thought, while “pushing” abilities and using new abilities requires deep concentration and in some cases a trance.  Artika has had the “supersuit” for 11 years and has developed the following repertoire:

Other Abilities of Supersuit: Skills:  As of the current date six years of training in martial arts- Chinese Kung Fu; Talking well, doing *some* accents,  pretty good at pretending she's someone she isn't for a short period of time (obsfuscation style not pretender style), writing well, organizing well, empathy skill knowledge (not a psychic ability), knowledge of the occult, knowledge of cultures and folklore, secretarial skills, knowledge of film and television production, computer and computer software use, singing and playing guitar, esoteric knowledge of television shows, driving a car, problem-solving, brainstorming, some Japanese language, some Chinese language, teaching/coaching
Hobbies and interests:  science fiction fandom, music performance, friendships, comic books, movies, dancing, music, education systems, cultures, helping make the world a better place.
Basic backstory:  When Artika was 21 she came back to New York City from the University of Chicago and transferred to a funky downtown liberal arts college. She worked part time as an administrative assistant. She'd returned to New York and home sweet Greenwich Village after being dissatisfied with her academic and spiritual progress in Chicago, not being able to make close friends and missing her home and close friends dearly. She had one good friend on-line an e-pal named Blair Sandburg, but he lived all the way  in Washington State on the West Coast, and she could take her e-friendship where ever she went.
Shortly after she returned to NYC, she received a strange black box with a raised red emblem on it, in it contained the “supersuit” and a brief note: Let kindness... and your imagination... be your guide.
Well, to para-quote Han Solo, Artika could imagine a lot! Aided by consulting with her closest and still today friends - Arthur, Alan, Rhiannon and Shaina; and the visions which seemed to come with the supersuit she went into action: silently (due to her distinctive musical voice and advice from Arthur) protecting people from crimes, violence, and occasionally helping behind the scenes in international intrigue involving drug crimes or dangerous new technologies. She uses her cell phone to call local police where ever she is for back up and clean-up, and has by the present several contacts in “ABC” type national and international organizations. The phone calls are scrambled through the supersuit untraceable. She only talks to bad guys when talking to
distract them would be helpful, and she occasionally talks to the same people at some police precincts and federal agencies. She has not done any verbal interviews and doesn't talk to the press. Thus her various “names” as a heroine: Lady Red, Silent Woman, Bodica, Bodica the unknown Babeasaurus. She uses Lady Red or Bodica when talking to he frequent contacts.
It took about three to five years for everything to get manageable and make sense, and there was plenty of angst in using the gifts of the supersuit until that point. After three years she met the alien on his space ship and
asked him to heal two physical weakness she had: flat feet and a lower back bone weakness. In recognition of good and continued service he complied with her request. She had the supersuit now for almost twelve years, and has six years of martial arts training outside of wearing the suit. Her life is very complicated, due to the rescues and intrigue that takes up a lot of her time, but she's managed to make a living as a freelancer. She got good friends, but hasn't had much time for dating. She's had a few long-term boyfriends (more than two dates and lasting up to about 8 months), but has never been “in love,” at least not so much as she would admit to herself.
Casting choice: Sam Jenkins Sorbo

Character name: Melissa Lyle
Nickname(s):  "No Relation" (as in no relation to MR. Lyle)
Show represented:  The Pretender
Concept represented:  Pretender
Played by:  Jessica Buckley
Gender:  Female
Age:  22
Race/Ethnicity:  White, American, Upper Middle Class
Appearance:  medium height, voluptuous, black black hair, green eyes
Marital Status:  single
Sexual Orientation:  she's a pretender, she'll do anything
Date of Birth:  6th of May
Place of Birth:  Blue Cove, Delaware
Place of Residence:  Blue Cove, Delaware
Occupation:  simulationist for the Centre
Income:  who knows they give her whatever she wants
Religion:  she's a pretender she believes in god, that's it.
Family:  doesn't know she has one, she thinks she's been at the Centre all her life. they're the only family she knows.
Education:  she's a pretender, whatever she says it is.
Gift:  as with any pretender she can become anyone or anything she wants. She tends to be better at reading people than being things, I.E. she's better at telling what a kidnapper will do with a victim than becoming a doctor for the day but she CAN become the doctor.
Skills:  she makes really cool jewelry, knits, weaves, makes clothes, quilts, she's very artistic in a useful art sort of way.
Hobbies and interests:  she likes horror movies, hates reading, does too much of it for WORK.
Basic backstory:  Well she's always been at blue Cove, thinks she was born there, that's not true of course, but she doesn't know they're creepy yet so it doesn't occur to her she's been lied to. I think she ends up with UH cause she meets someone OUTSIDE on a job and it sounds like fun, on the other hand the Centre is for sure going to come after her. It never occurred to them that they'd lose her. Unlike Jarod she never made leaving noises so they let her walk out the door. Style Boy, I mean Lyle is going to get his head handed to him for that. I suppose a member of UH with some kind of psychic ability or truth telling thing tells her the truth that she was kidnapped as a baby from her parents.
Casting choice:  Rose McGowan

Character name: Yvonne ("Von") O'Shea
Nickname(s):  Von, Eve, "Oh My God!"
Show represented:  The Sentinel
Concept represented:  Sentinel
Played by:  LadyRhian
Gender:  Female
Age:  32
Race/Ethnicity:  Caucasian, Black Irish/Italian
Appearance:  Yvonne is 6'4 and weighs close to 190 lbs, most of it hard muscle. Her size and athleticism have caused people to look up (and up, and up...) when seeing her and saying, "Oh my god!" She has now claimed this as one of her nicknames, and will reply, half in jest, "Yes?"
She has long, black hair, down to the small of her back (not that much about her is small, by any means), and piercing green eyes, as well as fair skin that tans rather than freckles, due to her italian heritage. She is in superb physical shape, but not excessively ripped due to her martial arts training. In street clothes, she looks normal, if a little heavy, perhaps. She has to buy her pants in special catalogs due to her height, but normal shirts fit okay.
Her voice is slightly husky, and her manner is frank, but never brusque. Around her friends, she really cuts loose and shows the less serious side of herself.
Marital Status:  Single
Sexual Orientation:  Heterosexual, but is not really shocked/horrified/surprised by anything
Date of Birth:  July 29th, 1967
Place of Birth:  New York City, New York
Place of Residence:  Forest Hills, Queens, NYC
Occupation:  Firefighter/EMT/Paramedic, also teaches Martial Arts, specifically Wing Chun, out of a small office front in the middle of town.
Income:  60,000/year (because of the general prosperity of the area, town workers are paid more here)
Religion:  Wiccan/Pagan
Family:  Parents living, no siblings
Education:  Yvonne attended college upstate in SUNY Albany. She graduated with a B.A. in English and an A.A. in Fire Training
Gift:  Yvonne has all the Sentinel powers: Greatly expanded senses, though without a guide at this point, her control is fragmentary at best. She is less prone to "zone-outs", and when she does have them, they don't cause her to pass out or fall over, but she is unable to stop what she is currently doing (feeling/smelling/looking at something).
She is partly able to control her abilities due to her martial-arts training and at least understands her expanded sight in relation to that. The rest confuse her, but don't traumatize her. She doesn't think she's going crazy or
that this shouldn't be happening to her. She realizes something *is* happening to her, and she wants to control it, but it frustrates her that she isn't able to...yet.
She can also use her abilities along with her strength to say, find a hidden flaw in a door and break it in half or to pieces.
Skills:  Von is very strong, and lifts weights to keep herself in shape for her job. She also has a 3rd dan black belt in Wing Chun, and enjoys physical activities such as bare-handed rock climbing and spelunking. She is a
voracious reader and enjoys surfing the web (in moderation) and writing to her pen-pals on various internet e-mail lists (she includes Blair Sandburg and Salamae Katz among them).
She is able to prepare various herbal brews and infusions to keep herself healthy, as normal medicines have always had strange effects on her, with fairly unpleasant side-effects she'd rather not experience more than once. She also meditates and does ballet.
Hobbies and interests:  Science-fiction and fantasy writing and reading (she is still an amateur writer, but it fills some of her off-hours), archaeology/paleontolgy/ethnography, music of many different types and styles, collecting precious gems and rocks (she has quite a wide collection), various sorts of magick, such as candle magick and color magick, as well as rune-casting and tarot reading. She reads voraciously on a wide variety of
subjects and is (according to some of her relatives, including her parents) "a storehouse of useless information". She also attends science-fiction conventions in New York City dressed as a female Klingon and uses sci-fi quotes in her normal conversations.
Basic backstory:  Von grew up in Queens, and spent most of her time proving that she was equal to any boy she knew, including her cousins (who are all now taller than her, and just as muscular). Her father was the town's fire chief and she looked forward to becoming one since the time she was young. Even though women firefighters were not allowed at the time, she spent a great deal of time working out with the weight machines in her family's basement. In school, she also discovered martial arts and took Wing Chun at the local Dojo.
When it was time for college, she went upstate to Suny Albany. Located near a state police training facility and with a large ROTC facility on campus, she considered both, but ultimately decided that neither was for her. She was too independent to find the army comfortable (and she was not willing to take orders blindly), and while serving and protecting in the police seemed like a good thing, she hated guns and wasn't willing to shoot anyone. Instead, she went for an English degree as an all-around education. She graduated with high honors and came back to Forest Hills with a minor degree in Fire Training. By that time, the fire department was accepting women, but they had to be as good as the men. And once again, she proved herself to be so.
While other women might have been harassed and intimidated in her position, she was also the chief's daughter and that kept any sort of that stuff to a minimum. She earned the respect of her fellow firefighters and in addition, recieved her EMT and paramedics license after a few years of study. She also achieved her black belt at this time and started teaching in the Dojo.
At one fire, she found evidence that pointed to arson. The owner of the property was on the city council and was not amused to be thrust into the center of the investigation. When Von wouldn't back down, he sent some of his
men to teach her a lesson. They found her in the sensory deprivation tank in her basement, meditating. So, they beat her up and threw her back in the tank, then locked her in.
She spent five days in sensory deprivation, barely able to move. The shock to her mind would have driven her insane, but she saved herself by going into meditation. During her time in confinement, she sank deeper and deeper into a trance, and had half-remembered dreams of being visited by a huge, snow-white lynx with blue eyes, a white lynx that sometimes curled protectively around her, and sometimes *was* her.
When she was finally rescued, she went into complete catatonic withdrawal for a week and a half. When she finally came out of it, her senses had gone "wild", everything felt keener than a knife, from fabrics to the taste of her favorite foods. She's adapted by dressing only in cotton, silk, leather and other "natural" fabrics, since synthetics seem to make her skin break out in "nasty" rashes, and staying away from the spicy foods she normally loves. Since she doesn't try to deny her senses, they are much keener than normal, but not as sensitive as they could be, nor can she "dial down" the intensity.
She's back on the job, but has noticed that her need to protect people has increased, and she often finds herself taking risks that she would not have previously.
Most of her friends are people she knows in town (her fellow firefighters and such, who treat her as "one of the boys"), but she also has many friends among the science-fiction fans of NYC and on the internet. Her sense of humor is somewhat crude and a little on the lewd side, but she also has a brain and laughs just as hard at the intellectual jokes. Being a friendly person, she has a wide circle of friends and acquaintances and knows somebody just about everywhere she is likely to go.
Von lives alone in a small, two-story house. She has a small gym and weight set in her basement, along with a sensory deprivation tank and sauna (though she's been hesitant to use the tank since her imprisonment in it). She lives with two female cats, Peaches (a dilute calico, gray/cream and white, with green eyes) and Cleopatra (a black and white cat with green eyes, this one has black outlines around her eyes like kohl paint), aka "Peach" or "the Peachster" and "Cleo". Both are very affectionate.
