Case 1412: The Haunted Brownstone

Summary:

The Boston House received information about poltergeist activity occurring in the area. The case was given to this House based on Security Specialist, Reese Logan's ties to the neighborhood where the event occurred. Three months ago poltergeist activity began at the home of Donald Jackson and his family. They are currently living with friends and have lost a great deal of money in property.

History:

1928 Brownstone, quiet non-descript neighborhood. Poltergeist activity began occurring in 1932 with the unsolved double murder of a young couple. A series of traumatic events have taken place with the Brownstone since that time. In 1938 a young boy died in an accidental fall down a flight of stairs. A twenty-two year old actress comitted suicide in 1941. Two families shared the building in 1945, before their ordeal was over, the youngest boy from one family had beaten a child from the other family to death. The record ends there because the building has been abandoned ever since.

Conclusion:

The sixty-four year old mystery was solved and the exorcism carried out, resulting in a complete dissolution of poltergeist activity as far as it can be determined. The Jackson family has returned to their home and for the last week there have been no signs of unusual activity. The Legacy will continue to monitor the situation closely.

Article Text:

BOSTON, Mass: Family of six driven out of their brownstone apartment building by invading poltergeists. The father, Donald Jackson, was quoted as saying, "We just don't understand. We never thought this could happen today". The Jackson family thought they'd gotten a bargain for the 1928 brownstone, because it was in such excellent condition. Within two months this bargain became the most expensive decision the family had ever made. The paranormal activity began two days after the family moved in, with a rustling in the walls they could not identify. "We thought maybe there were rats living in the walls," said Mrs. Mary Jackson. They tried fumigating and poison, but nothing seemed to stop the late night rustling. After a week of this, it stopped. The nervous, but somewhat relieved, Jackson family resumed their normal activities hoping the worst was over. They were wrong. The following night the family woke to loud hissing and shrieking screams that followed them in their desperate searching of the brownstone. They found nothing out of the ordinary in or around the building. They returned to bed and in the morning, found all the furniture on the lower floor smashed and useless. The police were called in, they filed a breaking and entering report, but since nothing was missing, there was little they could do. The couple's little daughter, Janice, reported seeing blood foaming out of her bedroom wall, as well as numerous other odd occurrances. Finally, they family could take no more of the nightmare that had shattered their dreams, and they left to seek shelter with friends. No explaination has been given for the occurrances at the Jackson's brownstone, but a family has run from their home in fear for their lives. Investigators site this as an ongoing investigation and will not comment further on either the occurrances or what they will do to resolve the situation. Rumor has it the international, philanthropic Luna Foundation will be assisting in the investigation.
