There was originally an entire sub plot
concernng the Wampas attacking and invading the Rebel base. The
first cut was when Han is trying to find Luke inside the base.
Originally Han walks up to two Rebels standing over a medical
droid examining a dead Tauntaun.
Han is told that it is Lukes and that
it's neck had been broken, the scene then cuts to Han asking
about the Snowspeeders (If you look closely in the final version
you can see the 2-1B examining the Tauntaun when han walks up to
the soldiers). After Han finds Luke and Luke is in the Bacta
tank, lines of him babbling about "dangerous snow
creatures" were edited out. I think this picture has to be
from that scene
After Luke is taken out of the Bacta
tank there was a short scene cut out of a healing mask being
taken off of his face.
As an interesting side note I read
somewhere that the cuts on Mark Hamill's face were real, and that
this part of his injuries was written in to cover up the damage
done to his face in a car accident he was in shortly before
Empire started filming.
Later we see Artoo rolling down a
passageway, he rolls towards two guards and they act really
scared and run away. Artoo stops and acts like he's wondering
what is going on. A few ice chunks fall on his head and he pivots
his head (the scene of the ice hitting Artoo's head is actually
in the video release). Artoo see's a large Wampa behind him and
races off at full speed. The Wampa chaces him untill the two run
into a group of soldiers who were waiting in ambush. The soldiers
kill the wampa with a bazooka and the scene ends. This scene was
printed in one of the old comic books.
Later in this comic there is a page
showing R2 and 3P0 outside the door where they have trapped the
other Wampa's explaining how they were trapped
After the Imperials invade the base
during the scene where Han and Leia are running to the falcon,
they run past a door with a yellow sign on it.
When Threepio passes he stops and
removes the sign.
While the Snowtroopers are invading it
shows a few of them come up to, and enter this room.
After all the Rebels have left there is
a scene of Vader and a few Snowtroopers walking down a corridor.
They come to a room filled with dead Snowtroopers. Vader asks if
the rebels did it, and one of the snowtroopers reply's that he
doubts it, there necks had been broken.
I found this picture and it was
described as a cut scene. It actually is just a very good zoom in
of Vader talking to Dengar in the background when Piett is saying
they don't need the Bounty Hunter scum.
