Marcelo de Andrade

The Vampire Pedophile

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil: Twenty-five-year old mama's boy Marcelo de Andrade worshipped his mother and went to church four times a week. But over a nine-month period in 1991, he
still found time as a vampire killer to kill, sodomize, and drink the blood of fourteen young boys aged from six to thirteen. And the reason he drank their blood and feasted on their flesh, the demented Rio homosexual told police, was because he would "become beautiful just like them."
Disappearing street urchins have long been a problem
in the bustling Brazilian metropolis of Rio. Most are the victims of warped vigilantes who are trying to clean up the streets. De Andrade's mission was more evil and sinister.
His killings ended when he "fell in love" with ten-year-old
Altair de Abreu, who told police a gruesome tale of watching the murder and sodomy of his six-year-old brother.
Altair told Rio homicide investigator Inspector Romem
Jose Vieira, "A man called Marcelo came up to me and my brother Ivan at a bus station and said he would give us money if we helped him light candles to a saint. We were heading for a church, but as we crossed a vacant lot, Marcelo suddenly turned on Ivan and started strangling him. I was so paralyzed with fear I could not run away. I watched in horror, tears streaming down my cheecks, as he killed and then raped my brother. When he was finished with Ivan, he turned to me, hugged me, and said he loved me."
After agreeing to spend the night with de Andrade, little
Altair managed to run away and went straight to the police with his terrifying story.

"Falling in love with Altair was de Andrade's big mistake - he let him live," said Inspector Vieira after de Andrade's arrest and confession.
"When we arrived at the office where de Andrade lived, he was very calm. He quickly confessed to Ivan's murder - but it took two months of questioning before he admitted to the others. He appeared very fragile and delicate. It was blood-chilling to hear him talk of these horrors in his quiet, soft voice."
"De Andrade told me, 'I preferred young boys because they are better looking and have soft skin. And the priest said that children automatically go to heaven if they die before they're thirteen. So I know I did them a favor by sending them to heaven.'"
De Andrade confessed that he loved to cut off his victim's heads with a machete he borrowed from his doting mother, then drink the spurting blood.
At the time of publication, under psychiatric evaluation, de Andrade awaits trial in Rio. I am currently attempting to find out the outcome in this case, an update will be posted as soon as the information becomes availiable.
