Tom Braidwood stays in Vancouver
Braidwood's leaving, but Frohike's here to stay

Following on the recent news that The X-Files' executive producer Bob Goodwin was leaving the show after the fifth season, it has been revealed in the Vancouver Province that Tom Braidwood would also be leaving.

Braidwood has been the show's assistant director for the past five seasons, and gained fame and many fans when he stepped into the role of Melvin Frohike, one of the Lone Gunmen. And while the show may be moving to Los Angeles next season, Braidwood will not be joining the rest of the crew:

"I am a native Vancouverite," Braidwood told The Vancouver Province. "I grew up here, I've managed to scratch out a pretty decent living in film here and got started when there was practically nothing going on here. I've survived, I've worked, I like working here, I like the people here, my wife and I like it here.

"So why move?"

Braidwood did reveal that he would still be available to play Frohike, and was quite willing to jump on a plane to LA to reprise the role. "We'll go down, get per diem, get a hotel and they'll drive us around. It'll be a hoot."
